These antique prints are some of the earliest forms of encyclopedic printmaking by
Dutch engraver Johann Wilhelm Weinmann.
Dating between 1736 and 1745, these Copper engravings printed in color and finished by hand, make up an almost complete record of the flowers, fruits, and vegetables cultivated in the early 18th century. The plates used for color printing are among the earliest examples of color printing from a single plate.
